Our mission is to help
you implement the federal 340B pharmaceutical program –
to enable you to use the buying power of 340B to
generate revenues, reduce costs and increase access to
prescription medications for your patients.
Hudson
Headwaters Health Network knows firsthand the issues you
face in developing a beneficial and sound 340B program.
Eight years ago, we became one of the first covered
entities to pursue the 340B opportunity. We had two
goals: to increase the availability of affordable
medicines and to create a new revenue stream to support
our health care services. Both goals would strengthen
our broader mission of providing high-quality health
care.
In
2002, Hudson Headwaters was granted authority though the
nation’s first Alternative Methods Demonstration Project
to contract with multiple community pharmacies. We then
reached agreement with several pharmacy vendors, and
began leveraging the ability to purchase drugs at
significantly reduced prices.
Our
340B operational procedures were continuously
fine-tuned, as we learned how to work with vendors and
promote the program to our patients. Our powerful 340B
Information Management System, developed in-house,
enables us to track every pill and every penny. It
ensures appropriate execution of the 340B program and
satisfies the rigorous auditing requirements of the 340B
regulations.
We’ve
used the significant revenue generated by the program to
provide discounts to low-income patients, and to support
a staff person who coordinates the delivery of free
medicines through the assistance programs offered by
various pharmaceutical companies to qualified patients.
We are
sure that the additional revenue from a 340B program
will support your mission, too.

Hudson Headwaters Health Network launched
340B Solutions in 2006 to offer 340B administrative
services to other entities – to share our success. We
can show you how to set up a 340B program and, if you so
choose, conduct your 340B “back office” functions. Our
340B staff handles 18,000 transactions every month*,
nearly 900,000 since our program began.
We invite you to take a closer look at
how you and your patients will benefit from a 340B
program.
*Includes Hudson Headwaters and 340B
Solutions’ clients.

Hudson Headwaters Health Network offers
340B consulting in two distinct service components –
Planning & Development and
Implementation & Operations. Other 340B-related
consulting services are also available.

We
begin with a site visit to evaluate your potential for
success with a 340B program. Our feasibility analysis
considers such factors as your payer mix, potential
pharmacy partner(s) in your area (their system
capabilities, consumer traffic and market share), your
willingness and ability to dedicate staff, and your
goals for using 340B medications.
Based
on how you actually operate, we generate a report that
projects savings or revenue enhancements. If a 340B
program makes sense, and you agree with our assessment,
we develop a detailed Business and Implementation Plan.
Additional services are available under separate
agreements.
